Welcome to OKC Magic

Updated 8-13-2008

The Oklahoma City Magic Club meets jointly with Ring 46, a chapter of the International Brotherhood of Magicians at 7 P.M. on the first Monday of every month, except September, at the City Arts Building at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. Visitors are welcome to attend most meetings, but one would do well to check the current newsletter for details on upcoming meetings. We welcome anyone with a sincere interest in the art of magic. Yearly dues are $20. An application for membership can be downloaded here. Feel free to email us for more information.

Mike Powers lecture on Thursday, August 21st at 6 PM at the City Arts.

2008 Pandemonium of Magic

is 2 PM on Saturday, August 23rd at the City Arts. This year's Pandemonium is in honor of one of its most influencial founders, Jim Smithson. Tickets are $7 and are available through club members and Party Bazaar on 4800 North MacArthur.

For magicians, this is a whole day of magic. The magicians event is $20 and includes a pot luck session at 11 AM, Pandemonium at 2PM, a Lecture with Mark Tams at 3:30, and a visit to Fontier City in the evening to watch a show by David Thomas - all for $20.

A great loss to the magic community, Jim Smithson passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008. Jim was a major inlfluence in the lives of many magicians, both in Oklahoma City and the in magic community at large. A member of the International Brotherhood of Magiciains and the Magic Castle, he was on record as being the longest continuous member of the Oklahoma City Magic Club. The Oklahoma City Magic Club granted Jim a Lifetime Membership Award in 2007 for his many contributions to the magic community.

The next regular meeting is at 11 AM on Saturday, September 6th at the City Arts. The September meeting is our annual swap meet, so bring magic to sell and / or money to buy magic. The September meeting is a pot luck. So bring your most popular dish to share.
